My Testimony

My name is Grace, which is fitting since God's grace has been present in my life in more ways than I can even imagine or try to account for, and every day God reveals new aspects to his grace that I could never discover on my own.

I have always believed in God-at least I can not remember a time where I did not. When I was very young my family regularly attended a Lutheran Church, which my memories of, generally consist of stuffed animals and coloring books. At the age of 5 my parents divorced-a scar that has caused me the most pain in my life-yet has also been one of the ways God has moved the most in my life, proving that God really does "cause everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them"-Romans 8:38 .As a result of this separation my mother was faced with a choice-stay at the Lutheran church? Return to the Catholic Church that she knew so well from upbringing? Or try the non-denominational church connected to her childrens elementary school; Calumet Christian? After much deliberation on her part, my mother listened to the leadings of the Holy Spirit moving in her and decided to try Xenos-an Evangelical church that ran the school me and all my siblings attended, that my Mother had visited more than once.

At Xenos I was provided with spiritual nourishment as a grew up-but I never really got it until 7th grade. I was at a summer camp for 7th grade students run by Xenos called "Blowout Camp" and I had just heard a teaching given by two High School girls about what Jesus had really done for me. Not just that he had "died for me" but down to every last detail of his agony. I realized that a God who loved me enough to do that was not lying when he said that he wanted and knew what was best for me-so I decided to pursue his will.

Now, as an 11th grade student, I can say that God had provided for me in all that He has called me to. I am actively involved in my high school bible study, run and host a junior high girls bible study, attend Apologetics classes at my church as well at the Xenos Summer Institute, and have a growing and vibrant relationship with me Creator who it too good and great for me to imagine, and who I look forward to learning more about- as I know that I will have an eternity with him to discover more about about this infinite being.
